Beltana Station

DSC_0358For more than a century explorers have been launching expeditions into the outback from Beltana Station.

About 500 kilometres to the north of Adelaide, the working sheep and cattle station at Beltana sits beyond the stunning Flinders Ranges and offers a unique outback farm stay experience.

The 1876 square kilometre (460,000 acre) station is owned by the Ragless family and offers a range of rustic accommodation, including the historic overseers cottage, men’s quarters and shearer’s quarters, all stone structures which date back to the 1860s.

it’s easy to venture around the station and historic Beltana township to discover the old Ghan Railway line, Copper King paint mine, Puttapa Springs and much more.

There are also camping quarters and caravan sites to give you that real explorer feel, just like the famous Thomas Elder experience before setting out on his journey.

Pets are welcome if kept on-lead.

From here it’s easy to venture around the station and historic Beltana township to discover the old Ghan Railway line, Copper King paint mine, Puttapa Springs and much more.

Dine with us at the Saltbush Restaurant and Museum where we serve our own Saltbush Lamb, Black Angus steaks and home cooked desserts. Scones, coffees, lunches and dinners are always available.
